Volunteer to Mix and Bake

Uhuru Holiday Pies are baked collectively by volunteers who are coordinated by our experienced bakers. No experience is necessary to bake with our team! You can bake on a shift with your friends and family. We are looking for both experienced and beginning bakers. Help cut and cook apples, mix berries, fill the pie shells, assemble and and fill boxes and label mountains of pies!

We are inviting all trained and aspiring bakers to join in becoming part of the core or our baking team. Be one of the lead bakers or baker's assistants that works with our volunteers to produce consistently beautiful and delicious Uhuru Pies. If you own or manage a bakery and would like to help produce Uhuru Pies this November, please contact Maureen at 510-851-4492.

This season, we are offering trainings at our kitchen for anyone interested in coordinating or assisting with one of our larger bake shifts.

Uhuru Pies are prepared in the 9 Catering kitchen at 1607 - 63rd Street, Emeryville, CA.

Our first big mixing session is on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, 2011.

We will follow that with several other mix and bake dates.
